In an interview with Abdul Waahid, Front Office Manager at Champa Central Hotel, learn more about the ways in which our Front Office helps create personalized and unforgettable stays at Champa Central.

 

Abdul Waahid was born and raised at Hithaadhoo in Baa Atoll, Maldives. He completed the GCE O’ Levels before embarking on his career in the tourism sector in 1999. Waahid joined Crown & Champa Resorts in 2002, as a room attendant. After progressing in the various departments, Waahid transferred to Champa Central Hotel on April 2017, as Front Office Manager.


Do you have a favorite spot within the Hotel? If yes, where?

Yes, the Roof Top Restaurant. The views of Male’ City are beautiful and the open area provides the ideal space to watch the sunset and have a cool beverage.

 

Describe your normal day at Front Office.

My normal day starts with the HOD morning briefing and then I make preparations for the arrivals and departures of the day. I also coordinate with other departments through any events that need to be carried out for the day.

 

Tell us how you and your team prepare for arriving guests.

The welcome drinks will be prepared together with the refreshing face towels, while a member of my team prepares the registration cards and Room key cards. All transfers from Jetty #1 in Male’ City are also taken care of using the information that our guests provide. We try our best to make the room ready, with any guest requests, by coordinating with Housekeeping department, before the guest arrives.

 

Which information is important for a guest to know upon their arrival at CCH?

Typically, we inform the guests of their Room number, Room category, Check-in time, their Meal plan and Restaurant opening hours. All information is explained upon arrival, so that our guests can feel at ease during their stay. Even if they have any questions, our team members are available and ready to assist.

Guests can dial “0” from their Room telephone to speak to anyone from the Front Office team.
